Significant principles of “Alumni NIS” – OTANYŃDY SUI, ÄLEMDI ÖZGERT, ADAL BOL (LOVE YOUR MOTHERLAND, CHANGE THE WORLD, BE HONEST) – rang out during the meeting of graduates of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools at the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Frankfurt am Maine.
“I have waited for a great opportunity for a long time, to tell from my own experience, how NIS became a real social elevator for me and provided me with chance of a lifetime,” admitted Amina Baktiyarova, a student at Hochschule Rhein-Waal:
– I entered the Intellectual School in Ust-Kamenogorsk from an ordinary rural school named after Kasym Kaisenov in the East Kazakhstan region; initially I had difficulties in learning English and Chemistry. I quickly realized that knowing only one foreign language is not enough, so I became interested in German; in the 12th grade, I passed IELTS with 8.0 and received invitations for a grant to several universities at once, including the Higher School of Economics. I chose Germany, the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, which is in Kleve in North Rhine-Westphalia; I study bioengineering and dream of having my word said in Kazakhstani science, in particular, in pharmaceuticals.
In my free time, I am engaged in creativity; I write poetry in English and have already published two books. In my rural school, I had not even dreamt about studying abroad and speaking a foreign language at such a good level. Thanks to opportunities at NIS, I was able to achieve success; the Intellectual School made me believe in myself; I am imbued with our main principles – responsibility for the country, academic honesty, and serving society.
Amina’s success story is a bright, compelling, impressive and… absolutely typical example of a NIS graduate. Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools gave each of them a unique chance in life. All participants of the meeting study at the best universities in Germany, which are known as top universities specializing in biochemistry, digital technology, mechanical engineering, engineering, logistics, and ecology.
Beibarys Yessengeldin graduated from NIS Shymkent of Physics and Mathematics two years ago, he was the president of the school; he came to Frankfurt from the Hungarian Gyor, where he studies at Szent Istvan University. At the University, everyone is surprised not only by Beibarys’s academic attainments in Natural Sciences and Mathematics but also by his versatile knowledge and talents that have been cultivated at NIS.
Nazira Omirbekova, a graduate of the Taldykorgan Intellectual School, today a student of the Technische Hochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt, was advised by her parents to go to the meeting.
Elikay Atabayeva studies at the Technical University of Munich, Adiya Bekdauletova at the Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences, Madina Karakulova at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, all of them graduated from NIS Almaty of Physics and Mathematics.
Kristina Mulyar is the representative of the first graduates of NIS in Pavlodar, today she works in Hamburg; she admitted that at the university she differed from her groupmates in her academic preparation received at school.
Angelina Bender from NIS in Petropavlovsk specializes in digital technologies at Technische Universität München, she already works in one of the largest insurance companies in Germany today and is sure that she got a unique chance thanks to her native school.
Danel Begaliyev, a graduate of NIS in Uralsk, came from Brandenburg, where he studies at the Technical University of Cottbus-Senftenberg, and specialises in environmental resource management.
Alikhan Nurdaulet graduated from Astana Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics and studies mechanical engineering at the Karlsruher Institut fur Technologie.
The most unexpected participant of the meeting was Abdullakim Zamirbek uulu, a future data analyst who is currently studying at The University of Messina. Abdullakim, a graduate of the Bishkek International School, came to Frankfurt from Italy on purpose to understand the secrets of success that characterizes all graduates of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. The top students of the top universities in Europe graduated from NIS; they are proud of their brotherhood, they are always ready to support everyone in difficult times, and they have become real role models.
– The main virtues of the graduates of the Intellectual Schools are not academic achievements, but human qualities, – Abdullakim admitted.
All participants of the meeting, who live and study in different parts of Germany, gathered for the first time in their native territory – at the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Frankfurt. The friendly, family atmosphere created by diplomats, sincere communication, and delicious dastarkhan delighted the students away from home.
“Today, each of our students is a plenipotentiary representative of their country, it is they who bring to the world the spiritual heritage of Abai, Akhmet Baitursynov, Alikhan Bokeikhanov, Myrzhakyp Dulatov and other great sons of the Kazakh people,” emphasized Consul General in Frankfurt Tauboldy Umbetbayev.
– The meeting in Germany can be called a logical extension of the first SAMGAU forum, which brought together NIS graduates in their homeland in December-January, – said Kulyash Shamshidinova, Chairman of the Board of the Autonomous Educational Organization Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools:
– All students, teachers, and parents are proud that our graduates adequately represent Kazakhstan in the world and promote the main principles of “Alumni NIS” – love the motherland, change the world, and be a real person.
