The results of the study on the topic “Microwave activation of isovaleric acid monoglyceride synthesis and its antimicrobial activity”, conducted by Aldiyar Appaz, a student of the 11th grade of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Kyzylorda, is published in the Bulgarian journal “Bulgarian Chemical Communications”, which is included in the list of the world’s largest database of scientific publications Scopus.
Aldiyar prepared this work together with his father, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Professor Nurbol Appazov, schoolteacher Marat Syzdykbayev and other scientists from Kazakhstan and Russia. As part of the working group, he investigated the method of synthesis of chemicals by microwave irradiation, studied the resulting product using methods of physico-chemical analysis and determined its activity against pathogens of infectious diseases – bacteria and fungi. Together with the results of the study, the article outlined the benefits of the resulting antibacterial drug for medicine.
It should be noted that Scopus is a rich repository of current natural science and medical knowledge. Today, the database contains over 22,000 journals, the publishers of which are 5 thousand organizations from all over the world. They have published over 40 million scientific articles.
— In accordance with modern standards, publication in such publications is a requirement for the scientific community. This is taken into account when defending a doctoral dissertation, when obtaining an academic degree or titles (associate professor, professor). This is a great achievement for a student,” said scientist Nurbol Appazov.
Aldiyar took over his interest in science from his father. The school contributed to the further development of research skills. In addition to chemistry, Aldiyar is successful in the field of information technology. Recently, he and his classmate Dinmukhammad Abdiyev won a prize at the Kyzylorda Idea Battle startup project competition organized by the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University Entrepreneurship Center and received financial remuneration for the development of “Gloves for people with special Needs”.
