Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Kyzylorda hosted a fair of national dishes.

The entire school community participated in an unusual event held as part of the week of Kazakh culture. Parents prepared the most delicious and main dishes of ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan.

  – We are a multinational country, where different nationalities live in peace and harmony. Today, the laid dastarkhan of friendship has further strengthened our unity, – shared the chairwoman of the parent committee Zaure Abuova.

At the fair, parents presented various treats of Indian, Russian, Uighur, Chechen, Korean and Kazakh cuisines. National corners conveyed the culture, traditions and way of life of ethnic groups.

– Our main goal is to expand students’ knowledge about the culture, traditions, and culinary preferences of various people. In addition, all the funds raised today will be used to help lonely elderly and low-income people in the region, – explained Gulzada Saduova, an activist of the parents’ committee.

Foreign guests – experts from the CIS Council of International Schools Gabriel Abad Fernandez and Chris Maggio also visited the fair and were impressed by the activity of the parent committee. The guests also noted that such events make a great contribution to the formation and promotion of global citizenship among students.
