At the regional stage of the World Olympiad in Robotics “WRO-2020”, students of the Kyzylorda Nazarbayev Intellectual School were able to win the first places on five categories.

In “RoboMission” category, Maxim Usoltsev and Danila Osetrov became the middle group winners, and Sultan Kani and Yernur Zhaksylykov were on top among the senior group members. In “Creative” category, the team whose members were Nurdaulet Adilbek, Aruzhan Mukhanbetiyar,  Adilet Sadu and Mukhtar Nagashybay, earned the first place. Another 1st place was awarded to Nurbol Zhakslyk and Nurmukhamed Orazbekov in  “Future Engineers” category.

During the competition the learners presented robots assembled by their own hands. Hand-made objects were expected to fulfill severall tasks: get through barriers, and move objects from one point to another. For the category “Creative”, participants introduced their innovative projects and their own inventions: a bioconveyer for waste processing, a universal device for patient identification through fingerprints, an automated farm, and others.

In total, 18 teams participated in the competition from secondary schools, namely Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology in Kyzylorda, school-lyceum № 136 named after T. Zhurgenov, Ziyatker innovative school-lyceum, school for gifted children № 4 named after E. Auelbekov, IT school № 4 named after S. Seifullin , IT-school № 187 named after M. Shokay, school-lyceum № 5 named after I. Panfilov and school-lyceum № 277.

The winners of the competition will represent the region at the republican stage and will compete for a place in the national team of Kazakhstan.
