Kyzylorda teachers are certified STEAM trainers

Teachers of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Kyzylorda Vera Korableva and Zhasulan Saparbaev are recognized as certified trainers in STEAM education.

NIS teachers successfully passed “Jana Talap: Development of pedagogical competencies in the field of STEAM education” as part of the roadmap for the development of STEAM education in Kazakhstan.

The training course lasted 144 hours and covered about 50 teachers from all over the country, who learned the methods and principles of using STEAM technology in the educational process, learned how to develop author’s program to disseminate the acquired knowledge.

“STEAM is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to learning. The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive education in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Within 3 months we got acquainted with the experience of domestic and foreign experts, developed our pedagogical skills,” said Zhasulan Saparbaev, the holder of the certificate.

The courses were attended by faculty from Michigan State University and other global education experts. As a result of the course, teachers will exchange experience with teachers of secondary schools in the region.
